The clip attached above is an example of problematic teaching. In the beginning of the scene one may even think this clip would be an example of good teaching, given that the teacher is being extremely forgiving and offering multiple different opportunities for the student to correct himself. However, as the student continues to make mistakes instead of providing ways in which he can improve the teacher is seen to be very quickly "losing his cool" and starts using aggressive and embarrassing ways to try and get the student to improve. This clip is from the movie Whiplash, which is one of my favourite movies of all time. I chose this video because it is a very extreme case of problematic teaching and I believe that by viewing it feelings of shock will be created, which in turn may allow others to also believe that this is an example of problematic teaching.

The clip above is also from the movie Whiplash and is an example of good teaching, in this video the teacher can be seen egging the student on to preform his best possible drum solo. Although no verbal teaching occurs one can still see that the teacher does his best to ensure that nothing conflicts with the students solo and therefore is helping him to achieve his personal best. The teacher also can be seen providing the student with non-verbal advice and offering help throughout to further improve the solo as he knows that the audience contains people that will be important to any future musical career the student may have. I have chosen this clip because I believe that it showcases that once students are provided with someone who can be referred to as their personal "cheerleader" they will achieve their personal best. I would hope that from watching this one would be able to see the bond between this teacher and student and be able to see just how effective it can be for a student to have someone always in their corner.
